Arrest made in car accident that took 2 lives

Car collisions happen every day, including on Connecticut roads. Of course, the most serious car accidents are the ones in which someone is injured or killed. If injuries or deaths are alleged to be the fault of another person involved, criminal charges can be filed against that person. That may prove to be the case in a crash that happened in the city of North Windham, Connecticut.

It happened on Route 6 at the Chaplin town line in the North Windham area. According to published reports, the crash happened at approximately 7 a.m. on a Thursday morning near Station Road. It involved a Ford Ranger and a Ford Escort.

The Ranger was driven by the lone survivor of the crash, 48. The driver, who is from Ellington, had been traveling eastbound along Route 6.

At that time, an Escort was traveling north and attempted to cross Route 6. As it did, it was struck on the driver’s side by the Ranger while attempting to cross over Route 6. The driver of the Escort, 48, and his passenger, 44, were both killed. The two, who are from Willimantic, Connecticut, were pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Ranger was not injured. Published reports have not specified any charges that he may face in the case. An investigation is ongoing, with police officers seeking additional information.

Car accidents in Connecticut and other states often result in injuries or deaths. In many cases, the injuries suffered by drivers and passengers are not fatal like in this case but are still serious. Anyone who is injured in a car accident can explore his or her full range of legal options.
