Fatal Connecticut car crash results in arrest

Hit-and-runs often leave injuries in their wake; sometimes, there are even fatalities. This was the case in a fatal crash that happened recently in Norwalk, Connecticut.

The crash happened last Friday night. A car hit three pedestrians, all of whom had been walking in the vicinity of 50 Woodward Avenue at the time. All three were injured. One died from injuries related to the accident after having been taken to the hospital. Their identities have not been released to the press yet.

The driver of the car that hit them has been identified. The driver, 33, hit the pedestrians at 8:30 p.m. last Friday. After he did, he got out of his car and ran away from the scene without helping the victims. Because of his actions, the driver was arrested. He is being held in custody on a bond of $750,000. Several charges have been filed against him.

Those charges include second-degree manslaughter with a motor vehicle and evading responsibility resulting in death. They also include driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs, evading resulting in property damage, operating without a license, operating an unregistered motor vehicle and unsafe movement of a motor vehicle. The case is under ongoing investigation, and any additional details that become apparent may be released at a later date. In the meanwhile, the two victims that were injured but survived and the family of the victim who died may want to look into their options.Likewise, victims in other cases where they or their loved ones suffer injuries at the hands of a hit-and-run driver may want to explore their legal options too. They may have more options than they realize. An experienced attorney can advise them.
