Automotive accidents often result in injuries to drivers, passengers and even to pedestrians. Sometimes, the extent of the injuries suffered by any particular person take a while to determine. Doctors may need to do multiple examinations and tests before conclusive diagnoses are made.
That is the case with a motorcyclist who was recently in a crash on Route 179. His condition remains unknown despite the fact that he was brought to Hartford Hospital right after the crash. He was transported to the hospital from the accident scene by Life Star.
All that is known is that his injuries were serious and that he is being treated for them. His identity has not been released by the police.
The accident happened shortly before 10:53 a.m., near the intersection of Route 179 and Route 202. The area of Route 179 by the Ocean State Job Lot was closed for hours due to the crash. That area has since reopened.
Responders to the site of the accident included the Carson Volunteer Fire Department, Canton Volunteer Ambulance and the North Central Municipal Accident Reconstruction team. In addition to the motorcyclist, a car was involved in the crash. No details have been released about whether the driver of the car was hurt or if there were any passengers in the car at the time of the accident.
The crash is still under investigation. No charges have been filed yet, and the circumstances and any potential liability continue to be looked into. Once those determinations are made, those involved may want to look at legal considerations. Those considerations are important for others in Connecticut car crashes to look into, too, which they can do with the help of an attorney.
