Connecticut roads can get very busy, with a wide variety of different vehicles going at high speeds at the same time. When an accident happens, it can be particularly devastating if a higher-weight vehicle crashes into one or more lower-weight vehicles. This happened recently when a dump truck was in a serious accident in Norwalk, Connecticut, with three other vehicles.
Police and firefighters rushed to the scene after being informed about the crash at approximately 2:21 p.m. When they got there, they found a small box truck that was overturned onto one side. Other vehicles in the accident were a dump truck, a Norwalk taxicab and a Chevy Malibu.
The Chevy Malibu was pinned against a telephone pole by the box truck. Firefighters were faced with a challenge to get the occupants out. They were able to remove one man from it and then removed the roof so medical personnel could get to the other one.
In total, six people were taken from the site of the crash to the local Norwalk Hospital. All were transported by ambulances. According to published reports, their injuries were non-life-threatening.
All of the vehicles were towed. The dump truck sustained damage on the front side, and the taxi was also damaged. Norwalk police are conducting a thorough investigation into the causes of the crash and are expected to make the results of that investigation available when ready.
In truck accidents like this, those involved want to tend to their injuries first and foremost. However, they also have legal rights. They may want to explore those with the help of an attorney.
