Connecticut residents who are victims of hit-and-run accidents face many challenges. There are issues related to dealing with the emotional, physical and financial costs associated with injuries. Fortunately, there are legal remedies for dealing with these kinds of tragic events.

According to CBS CT, Hartford law enforcement officials received a call notifying them of a hit-and-run accident. When officials arrived at the scene of the crime, they saw a woman lying unresponsive in the street. According to the report, the 55-year-old woman got struck down by a motorist who was driving on the wrong side of the street. After admission to the Hartford Hospital, medical personnel announced that the hit-and-run victim died at 2 p.m. that same day.

The vehicle in question is a 2018 gray Hyundai Sonata. Law enforcement spotted the vehicle when reviewing surveillance video footage. The car appears in the frame after the woman got struck. The car also displayed major damage to its front end. Additionally, someone reported the vehicle stolen. Law enforcement officials found the car near the scene of the crime. When they arrived, they caught an individual who attempted to flee from them. Although the individual in question has outstanding warrants, it is not clear whether this person of interest has anything to do with either the car or the tragic hit-and-run accident.

Anyone can end up injured or worse due to a motorist’s reckless driving behavior. Fortunately, there are legal resources available to assist victims of hit-and-run accidents. In cases like this, it may be best to consult with an attorney who has experience handling motor vehicle, personal injury, wrongful death and hit-and-run cases.
