A 33-year-old New Britain woman is facing four years in prison after pleading guilty to drunk driving. She also received five years of probation for the automobile accident that killed a 32-year-old paramedic. The woman pleaded guilty to second degree assault with a motor vehicle and second degree manslaughter.
An 8-year-old boy was killed after being struck by two cars when they were involved in an accident on Burnside Avenue in East Hartford. The boy was walking home from a park on April 17 around 5:55 p.m. when he was hit. Although he was transported to the Connecticut Children's Medical Center, he later died from his injuries on Friday, April 17.
Police believe that a female school bus driver who was transporting seven students to the Glastonbury East Hartford Elementary Magnet School was allegedly distracted from her duties as a bus driver when she accidentally rear-ended a Jeep that had stopped in front of her in Wethersfield. The woman has been cited for distracted driving and traveling too fast for conditions.
A 40-year-old South Windsor man is facing multiple charges after losing control of a 1982 Chevrolet Camaro that he was driving after crashing it into a tree. The charges against the man include making an improper turn, second degree assault with a motor vehicle and operating a vehicle under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
